Mission Statement
Fundació Tallers Guinardó is a nonprofit organization established in July 1999 and registered in the Generalitat de Catalunya's Registry of Foundations under number 1338. Our foundation was created by parents and professionals from Cooperativa Tallers Guinardó to address the needs of their children with disabilities. We have a long history of supporting people with disabilities, promoting their autonomy and social inclusion through resources like housing—a residential home with six places—leisure services through this presented project, the Post-Work Service for active and healthy aging, a Guardianship Service to protect individuals when natural guardians can no longer provide care, and a Pre-Employment Service offering training to young people with disabilities. Over the years, we have worked to fulfill our mission and adapt to emerging social challenges, offering housing, leisure, elder care, guardianship, guidance, and training for youth with disabilities. We provide essential supports to ensure people with disabilities can access equal opportunities to lead full, independent, and inclusive lives. Our goal is to be a leading social organization in personal care and social inclusion, with a focus on innovative, sustainable, and socially responsible practices. Our core values include equality—equal in essence, though with unique support needs; participation—where everyone’s involvement drives our goals; and access to broad social, economic, and workplace autonomy.
About This Cause
For over 20 years, Fundació Tallers Guinardó has worked to promote the well-being and social inclusion of people with disabilities, supporting them in developing independence and enjoying a high quality of life. To achieve these goals, we design and deliver tailored services in collaboration with individuals and their families. Our services include: Housing and In-Home Support Services: We provide a range of housing solutions and in-home support to ensure that each person can live as independently as possible. This includes assistance with daily activities, household management, and community integration, allowing individuals to maintain a stable and fulfilling home environment. Day Service for Older Adults in the Aging Process: This service supports older adults with disabilities as they age, promoting active aging and healthy lifestyles. It includes tailored activities, health monitoring, and social engagement, all focused on maintaining dignity and a high quality of life in later years. Advisory and Accompaniment Services: We offer expert guidance, resources, and personalized support for individuals and families navigating the challenges related to disability. Our team assists with legal, financial, and practical matters, empowering families with the knowledge and confidence needed to make informed decisions. Leisure Services: Our leisure programs provide accessible and enriching recreational activities for people with disabilities, encouraging personal growth, creativity, and social connections. These activities are essential for enhancing social inclusion and developing skills that contribute to overall well-being and satisfaction. Training and Employment Integration Services for Young People: We are committed to preparing young people with disabilities for the workforce by offering vocational training, skill development, and job placement support. This service helps bridge the gap to employment, promoting social and economic autonomy through meaningful work opportunities. Our approach is person-centered and tailored to each individual’s environment, fostering community awareness and building personalized networks. This enables people with intellectual disabilities to connect meaningfully with their surroundings and reinforces our mission of ensuring their full social inclusion.
