Mission Statement

Our vision is that all seriously ill children in Sweden should feel better with their loved ones, close. Our mission is to create and support initiatives that have a positive impact on the well-being of sick children, their families and loved ones.

About This Cause

Ronald McDonald Barnfond is a non-profit fundraising foundation in Sweden with a 90-account. We raise money to build Ronald McDonald House where families with seriously ill children can live together in a homely and safe environment, close to the hospital. There are five Ronald McDonald Houses in Sweden and they are located in Huddinge, Linköping, Lund, Gothenburg and Uppsala. Every year, 3 600 families stay in the Houses and since the start in 1993 there have been a total of 200 000 family members. Ronald McDonald Barnfond also contribute funds to children's clinics that want to adapt the waiting rooms for children at the country's hospitals and health centers. Ronald McDonald Barnfond is part of Ronald McDonald House Charity (RMHC) and the first House opened in Philadelphia, USA, in 1974 after recognizing the need for parents to stay close to their hospitalized child.
