Our Mission is to create transformation in our societies by empowering the guardians, youth and women economically in entrepreneurship and vocational trainings so that they can provide access to equal opportunities such as Education , shelter and HealthCare to Orphans and vulnerable children, youth and young mothers for a sustainable development.

About This Cause

Shines Children's Foundation (SCF), is a dynamic youth led organization which was formed in 2013, and in 2014, it was registered as a Non-governmental Organization by Uganda national NGO Bureau. The organizational seeks to advance and promote better and improved health, Education of Orphans and vulnerable Children and well-being for adolescents and young people with specific emphasis on promotion of Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, enhancing gender equality, youth empowerment, and promotion of youth livelihoods through; entrepreneurship skills development. Since 2013, at its inception, the organization has been a positive force towards the behavioral change of youth, and communities by directly influencing and involving young people (10-25 years) in education, health, economic empowerment, and entrepreneurship skill development, improving on sexual-reproductive health rights and affective behavioral changes among the youth. The organization has also gained vast experience in working with communities in effecting better food security and nutrition, orphans and vulnerable children care awareness, HIV/AIDs awareness, human rights observation and protection, economic strengthening and environmental conservation. With well-organized policies, SCF has been fully guided on its operation, these polices include among others; Human resource policy, finance policy, Board governance policy, procurement policy, volunteer and Internship Policy , partnership and fundraising Policy with a five year strategic work plan that guides our programs and the budget. The Organization is led by Board chairperson who assumes power from the general assembly and other six Board members; the secretariat is of five staff members who are headed by the Executive Director and he is the Board secretary. Respect THE OBJECTIVES OF SCF ARE: a) To enhance the economic capacity of parents and the caregivers in entrepreneurship skills to enable the targeted children get adequate health, love and education sustainability b) Provide access to Education to poor and vulnerable through sponsorship programs c) To reduce the prevalence of HIV/AIDs through counseling and testing, creating awareness and providing care to people living with HIV/AIDS. d) To establish a link between the Homeless children and their former families with a view of restoring them to a normal family life. e) Increase access to clean drinking water in communities through WASH programs f) To establish a community a resource and Information Centers so as to enhance access to quality information. g) To provide access to Information on adolescent sexual and reproductive health Rights and youth advocacy. h) To provide vocational skills to youth outside school and OVCs. i) To promote youth livelihood and food security. j) To advocate for the children and human rights for social economic development. Caregivers and grannies SHINES CHILDREN'S FOUNDATION PARTNERSHIP The organization has good working relationship with the local Masindi district Local Government and has networked with a number of forum for working relationship such as; Community development Network (CODNET), Uganda National NGO forum (UNNGOF), Forum for Education NGOs in Uganda (FENU). The Organization has international partners such as Tools with Mission UK (TWAM), CAFamerica( Donor advised funding), peace corps Uganda, Girls Not Brides Global among others. Sexual reproductive health and rights projects 7. Youth livelihood project 8. Economic empowerment among the caregivers (Giving start up kits) 9. HIV/AIDS counseling and testing 10.
