Mission Statement
Our mission is to foster strong community cohesion within the High Wycombe area, whilst providing a comfortable community facility which helps promote the education, health and well-being of the inhabitants, through social and economic regeneration.
About This Cause
Wycombe Multicultural Organisation was established in 1991 with a mission is to foster strong community cohesion within the High Wycombe area by working with local people and groups to promote the education, health and wellbeing of residents through social and economic regeneration. We undertake this primarily within the Hilltop Community Centre that we manage. We are a UK registered charity governed by 8 local Trustees, supported by 2 part time staff. Through the Hilltop Community Centre, we are able to offer a range of activities and services in partnership with local organisations and agencies such as training for young adults with learning difficulties who would not otherwise access employability opportunities; health activities around young people’s obesity, stroke awareness/prevention; sports and fitness such as self-defence classes, Tai-chi and Kick-boxing, arts, cultural and social activities for elders, families and educational activities for young people. Based in High Wycombe where the largest number of Vincentian descendants reside outside of St Vincent, WMCO is working with the UK Armed Forces Veterans to help raise awareness and funds to help the country of St Vincent and the Grenadines which has been devastated by frequent volcanic eruptions since 9th April and more recently flooding caused by heavy rainfall.
