Mission Statement
The Charity’s object is “to provide or assist in the provision of facilities for recreation and creative, educational activities for children and young people in the interests of social welfare and in order to improve their quality of life.”
About This Cause
We support children and young people living in disadvantaged circumstances or experiencing difficulties in their lives by providing free, open access, recreational, educational and creative activities in out of school hours. Through our activities and the safe space we create, our children and young people gain life and work skills, confidence and resourcefulness. We aim to inspire; we work on building long term relationships, developing resilience in our young people and encouraging them to make positive choices at every stage. A.P.P.L.E is based at the ARTBLOCK, in Acton Park. (The ARTBLOCK, East Acton Lane, London W37LJ) the central green space used by all groups that make up the Acton community. Our ethos of SHARED SPACE is incorporated in our work by running free, open access, drop-in sessions where all are welcomed. We create a safe and welcoming space where children, young people and their families can meet with others from different estates, schools, backgrounds. What we do -Opening the doors We run all year round at the ARTBLOCK, Acton Park, East Acton Lane, Acton W37LJ. - all sessions are free and open access Term-time there are weekly after-school clubs and Saturday sessions , 2-5 pm In the school holidays we run Mon- Fri sessions, 2-5pm We provide a range of indoor and outdoor activities. The children and young people participating are central to the design of the programme and projects.
