About This Cause

Hopscotch’s values and principles are rooted in protecting and promoting BAME women and girls’ human rights and ensuring their safety. Hopscotch works with all ethnic minority women and girls. Our services are run by experts who really understand the needs and barriers of BAME women. The centre provides a holistic approach to the needs of local BAME women:- Welfare Advice in community languages both from our centre and pan London close to where BAME women live, where culturally sensitive services are limited; Domestic Abuse Advocacy with intervention and prevention working with women and girls fleeing domestic violence, forced marriages etc; Employability Skills Development encouraging women to build their confidence through overcoming barriers and being able to use their learning to step out into the world of work; Better Employment – tackling in-work poverty and helping those on low incomes to upskill and better their prospects, leading to a more comfortable existence for themselves and better the chances for a London without poverty; Older Women’s Support, providing a safe space with learning and social opportunities for our older community members; Youth Support with mentoring for BAME girls 11-17, helping them discover their aspirations through activities and session around building confidence; Our social enterprise is a Homecare contract supplied by Camden Adult Social Care which provides personal and domestic care in the community with employment opportunities for our service users from our above programmes to step into the world of work in a safe and culturally appropriate way.
