Formed in 1996, OHP became an independent charity in October 2015. The key aims of the company are to: • Deliver a programme of creative, challenging and inventive opera • Develop new talent by providing professional career development for young artists • Maintain accessible pricing categories • Break down barriers to opera through the Inspire programme of education and outreach initiatives • Create a welcoming and informal environment
About This Cause
Opera Holland Park is an ambitious, award-winning opera company with a reputation for five star productions attracting talented professionals and rising young performers. Each season 50 performances of well-loved classic and rare opera, operetta and concerts draw audiences of 40,000 who benefit from affordable, subsidised and free tickets. At the the heart of the company is the Inspire Education and Outreach Programme, which opens up opera to all, breaking down barriers and providing opportunities for all members of the community to experience, discover and take part in opera and classical music, broadening the appeal of opera for the old, young, and disadvantaged. OHP became an independent charity in October 2015 and receives no Arts Council or statutory funding. Donations and grants enable us to achieve a great deal on a small budget and we are often nominated at industry awards, most recently the Royal Philharmonic Society Music Awards and South Bank Sky Arts Awards.
