Mission Statement
Arts For All is a highly creative charity serving the disadvantaged communities of Tower Hamlets and Hackney. The organisation runs structured weekly art therapy sessions to engage people of all ages from diverse cultures and background and those with special needs. The centre sits within one of the most deprived areas of the UK, some 85% of families served by the centre are unemployed and three quarters have English as their second language. Through long term support, Arts For All builds confidence, helps people achieve their goals and changes lives.
About This Cause
Throughout the week Arts For All run creative classes and clubs - for adults during the day and children and young people after school and in the holidays. This includes focused work with adults with learning disabilities. Arts For All is completely inclusive and our vision is to touch peoples lives in a very personal way; caring about each individual and helping and supporting them as they grow in confidence and look forward to a more positive future. Twice a year we encourage our members to take part in painting and photography workshops and these culminate in City exhibitions. We have, to date had 16 exhibitions and they have all been sell out successes. through these amazing achievements you see people grow in stature and self esteem and that is central to everything we do. We have been running for 14 years and have worked with many young people who have stayed with us throughout their school years. Many of these children live in families struggling with unemployment and yet over 90% of the young people who come here have gone on to college to study something that really interests them and on to rewarding and sustainable employment.
