About This Cause
At The Climate Group we speed up action on climate change to help the world avoid catastrophic global warming. We increase the ambition and commitment of businesses and governments in areas such as renewables, electric vehicles, and smart energy, to cut emissions while building an economy that works for everyone. We are using the power of large business and governments to shift global markets and policy towards tackling climate change more quickly and at an ever-greater scale. The Climate Group leads on and supports several projects, campaigns and summits: The Under2 Coalition - The Climate Group acts as Secretariat to the Under2 Coalition and works directly with government signatories and partners of the Under2 MOU to drive net-zero ambition and action. It works with governments to accelerate climate action through three workstreams: Deep decarbonization pathway planning, scaling innovative policy solutions and mainstreaming transparency. EV100 - EV100 is a global initiative bringing together forward looking companies committed to accelerating the transition to electric vehicles (EVs) and making electric transport the new normal by 2030. EV100 is part of a growing family of corporate leadership initiatives led by The Climate Group and is part of the We Mean Business coalition’s work to address the key components of a future-proofed, low carbon business model. RE100 - Brought to you by The Climate Group in partnership with CDP, as part of the We Mean Business coalition, RE100 is a global, collaborative initiative of influential businesses committed to using 100% renewable electricity. This will accelerate the transformation of the global energy market and aid the transition toward a net-zero economy. Working to accelerate the scale-up of renewable power to help us deliver a better, healthier and more sustainable world for what will soon be 9 billion people. EP100 - The Climate Group’s global EP100 initiative, in partnership with the Alliance to Save Energy, brings together a growing group of energy-smart companies committed to using energy more productively, to lower greenhouse gas emissions and accelerate a clean economy. By setting ambitious targets and integrating energy efficiency into business strategy, leading companies are driving clean tech innovation while delivering on emissions reduction goals – inspiring others to follow their lead. EP100 is delivered as part of the We Mean Business coalition. LED Scale-Up - The Climate Group is working to accelerate adoption of LED street lighting in cities around the globe. To drive LED scale-up, The Climate Group called for every city and utility in the world to switch to LED street lighting (or as energy efficient as) by 2025 – and for policymakers to define clear long-term strategies that will encourage adoption of energy efficient technologies. Climate Week NYC - Climate Week NYC is a global event, run by The Climate Group, in coordination with the United Nations and the City of New York, which happens annually during the UN General Assembly. We host government ministers, investors, governors, CEOs and mayors from across the world; they are shaping markets and setting policy to make climate action a reality. Climate Week NYC is one of the key summits in the international calendar and has been driving climate action forward since it was first launched by The Climate Group in 2009.
