Mission Statement

We inspire children and young people across London and beyond, using data to understand the barriers they face. We connect young people with employers to open doors to different career paths and professions. We develop their employability skills so they can pursue even more opportunities. We showcase and celebrate their talent so that others can see their worth. We bring education and business together to create a larger talent pool and promote social mobility. ABOUT INSPIRE INSPIRE is the result of a merger between two charities; Inspire-ebp and 15billionebp. Collectively both charities have been working to serve local communities and young people in London for 44 years. After years of collaboration and partnership working we made it official in 2021 with the merger increasing the services we offer, the boroughs we work with and our collective experience of working with the young people across them. With a greater understanding of the local needs we influence and support agencies to target their work at those who need it most.

About This Cause

INSPIRE is the result of a merger between two charities; Inspire-ebp and 15billionebp. Collectively both charities have been working to serve local communities and young people in London for 44 years. After years of collaboration and partnership working we made it official in 2021 with the merger increasing the services we offer, across London and beyond. In partnership with employers and other agencies, Inspire supports and opens doors for young people, giving them access to a world of choices that may otherwise have remained out of reach. We provide young people with the personal and employability skills they need to access and succeed in the world of work; we support and inform their aspirations; raise their levels of achievement, attainment and motivation and enhance social mobility. Each year Inspire delivers over 240 programmes to more than 25,000 young people . We work in collaboration with around 2,500 volunteers. Our work is built on a number of principles: •We believe passionately in the importance of employers engaging with schools and young people, and know from experience how much this process enriches participants on both sides. •We believe all young people have great potential, needing only the right skills and attitudes to progress and succeed. We aim to instil these by providing young people with exposure to businesses and the world of work. •We believe that it’s never too early to start preparing children for adult life, and so deliver a variety of programmes in primary schools to children aged 3 and above, helping them to see that their future can be anything they want it to be. •Finally, and perhaps most importantly, we are passionate about challenging disadvantage. We know that some young people need a bit of extra support – particularly at times of transition, when the neediest children can easily slip through the cracks – and a more personalised approach to help them fulfil their potential. Our work with the most at risk young people includes work-focused learning, personal development courses to help build wider skills for life and employment, support for NEET young people to progress into education, employment or training and our independent Inspired Directions School, which offers full-time education for those struggling to access mainstream education. Beyond our roster of current programmes, we are always keen to work with individual schools and companies to develop new ideas and activities to enrich children’s education, forge mutually beneficial partnerships between businesses and schools and offer valuable experiences to employee volunteers.
