Mission Statement

Our charitable objective is 'To advance education and aid in the relief of poverty in any part of the world'.

About This Cause

The MAD (Make a Difference) Foundation Limited helps people in some of the world’s poorest countries to help themselves, by working with them at a grassroots level to develop much-needed community resources. We are currently focusing on efforts in Poland and Ukraine given current world events: Our 'Operation SafeDrop' is working to provide support and transportation to get women and children safely and directly to their needed destination after crossing the border. Not only does this assist the families and their loved ones but also relieves the pressure on the border refugee camps. We aim to provide safe, efficient, and free "last mile" transportation for those who were forced to make this journey to keep their children safe and to support and assist all those arriving at humanitarian centres as they continue their difficult journey. Our Operation is working to provide support and transportation to get women and children safely and directly to their needed destination after crossing the border. Not only does this assist the families and their loved ones but also relieves the pressure on the border refugee camps. Our initial aim after Ukraine was invaded was to provide safe, efficient, and free "last mile" transportation for those who were forced to make this journey to keep their children safe and to support and assist all those arriving at humanitarian centres as they continue their difficult journey. Since then we have evolved very quickly as more needs have been identified and our mission is now covering 6 key objectives to provide support and assistance as necessary to the following : Move vulnerable groups and individuals from the Border and Refugee Centres to their family and existing friends throughout Poland and Europe. Assist in bringing back refugees who have no transport, in particular from rural areas as and when corridors are open, from within Ukraine and into safety. Sourcing and delivering small-batch aid and supplies to Ukraine by gathering family-by-family aid requests from refugees, compiling and packaging aid for their loved ones that remain in Ukraine, and arranging delivery. Assist Ukrainians needing to get to the UK under the Homes for Ukraine Scheme by providing translation and host matching services, transportation to and from the Home Office’s Visa Assistance Centre and provide accommodation nearby to help prepare them for their journey to the UK once their visa is processed. Assist those who are then ready to leave to the UK with suitable transport depending on the circumstances using Operation SafeDrop chaperones on government-sponsored trains and buses, our own private vehicles for remote rural locations and those with health and trauma issues, including flights as and when available. Once Ukraine is back to a position of stability, support and assist families to return to their homes and their loved ones who could not leave due and had to stay and fight. Historically the MAD Foundation has funded over 300 community Projects, including the building of 128 classrooms, 80 toilet blocks and pit latrines, 12 pre-schools, 1 HIV clinic, 1 green house, 1 kitchen with a bread oven, 100 sinks and wash stations, 1 technical block, 8 permanent family houses and 20 fishing boats destroyed by the 2004 Tsunami, 13 Water tanks for schools, 8 playgrounds, 5 bridges, 5 storm-drains, 2 bakeries, 1 Fish farm and a guinea pig shed. We’ve also planted over 25,000 trees, dug and laid 25 miles of water pipeline, taught 85,000 lessons, coached 63,000 sports sessions, renovated 6 orphanages and a home for street kids. By enabling sustainable projects and facilities, focusing on key areas such as education, child welfare, primary healthcare, health education, and employment skills, the MAD Foundation supports communities in creating better opportunities and scope for further development. In addition to funding all building materials, on average for every volunteer, we take out we also employ one local person at each Project location. This may be a skilled mason, carpenter, driver or a cook, and underpins our ‘Developing Together’ ethos. Co
