Mission Statement
To end homelessness. Article 25 of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that “Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.”
About This Cause
Trinity currently has over 40 properties in the London Borough of Hillingdon, and is continuing to add more as well as expanding into Slough. Coaches support residents based on their individual needs, ranging from intensive contact every day for those with high support needs to regular floating support services. Our coaches support residents to rediscover unutilised personal resources and to reframe problem-focused thinking into discovering their own unique solutions. The coaching we provide empowers residents in tenancy sustainment through engaging people in such a way that they can develop resourceful strategies. Person-centred planning is offered to all our residents who are encouraged to create a personalised support plan. The average life expectancy in Britain is 80 years. For someone sleeping rough, it’s 47 years. We estimate we need to provide housing solutions for over 500 people sleeping rough in Slough and the London Borough of Hillingdon every year for the next three years. We plan to open a direct access therapeutic community for rough sleepers in order to get them ready for supported housing. We are looking to develop our own units of affordable studio accommodation, and are exploring relationships with housing associations and the private rented sector in order to develop an affordable housing solution. We have 2 Social Enterprises, Trinity Furniture Stores, providing high quality, affordable, second hand furniture to the community. We have saved 17 tonnes of furniture from going into landfill so its furniture that literally doesn't cost the earth.
