Our mission is to create a world in which every young person is empowered to create social and political change.
About This Cause
We believe young people are agents of change. Since 1948, The British Youth Council (BYC) has been giving young people across the UK aged 11-25 the power and potential to take action and make positive social and political change for themselves and others. As the national youth council of the UK, we bring young people together to find their voices, and amplify them to create an environment in which their views are valued, sought and acted upon. Through a wide range of programmes and membership services, we educate and train them to influence and inform the decisions that affect their lives. We support them to get involved in their communities locally, nationally and internationally, making a difference as volunteers, campaigners, decision-makers and leaders.
