Mission Statement
Our vision is to live in a society where older people are respected and enabled to meet their aspirations. Our mission is to support older people who are lonely, isolated and vulnerable. Providing care and support to help them maintain independence, good health and wellbeing.
About This Cause
Age Connects Cardiff and the Vale provide a range of services employing 40 staff and over 300 volunteers. Services include, a Community Support project and Good Neighbour Schemes providing practical and emotional help ranging from shopping, transport, help with paperwork, to companionship and helping people join in community activities. The Charity runs a Wellbeing Centre that provides social and leisure activities, health and exercise sessions an cafe and information sessions from a range of agencies. In the Vale of Glamorgan we deliver Advocacy and Welfare Rights services along with two paid for services - A Shopping service and Nail Cutting service. Across the two counties we deliver contracted services such as Discharge Support Service helping people who are in hospital and need to move into care settings or back into the community, A Broker Service helping people to avoid admission into hospital or supporting them in the community after discharge. An Independent Advocacy Service for people in care settings. Contracted services are delivered by paid staff only,
