Mission Statement

Julian Campbell Foundation’s goal is to improve the lives of young people through early intervention and promotion of mental health in educational establishments. We provide practical and emotional support to young people and their families through befriending and mentoring service in a person-centred way.

About This Cause

About the Julian Campbell Foundation (JCF) At the Julian Campbell Foundation, we believe no young person should ever feel alone, unseen, or unsupported. Founded in memory of Julian Campbell—a gifted, creative young man who tragically ended his life due to mental health struggles—we exist to prevent teen suicide and promote emotional wellbeing. Our mission is to empower young people to thrive through early intervention, emotional intelligence, and creative expression. We provide practical, creative, and emotional support for young people and the adults who care for them, working across schools, communities, and families. What We Do Mood Mentoring Our one-to-one and group mentoring programme helps young people understand and manage their emotions. Through simple tools and consistent support, students learn how to regulate their mood, communicate better, and reconnect with learning and life. Psychodrama Workshops Delivered in schools, these fun and impactful sessions use theatre to explore emotional wellbeing. Students engage with stories, role-play, and reflection to develop empathy, resilience, and self-awareness in a safe, creative space. Parent Training & Resources We offer emotional intelligence training for parents, equipping them with tools to support their children’s wellbeing and build emotionally safe homes. Our bestselling book, Runs in the Family, is a key part of this work. Teacher CPD Programmes Our training for teachers is CPD-accredited and focuses on self-care, recognising student mental health needs, and developing whole-school emotional intelligence. Level 3 NVQ Mentor Training We train and certify mentors with a nationally recognised qualification, enabling them to provide high-quality mental health support in schools and youth organisations. How We Make a Difference Every donation helps us train mentors, deliver workshops, and reach vulnerable young people before they reach crisis. Every volunteer amplifies our impact. Together, we’re building a world where every young person feels seen, heard, and valued. We’ve supported thousands of young people across the UK and internationally, including Colombia and the U.S. What started with a group skydiving fundraiser—raising £6,000—has grown into a powerful, international movement for youth mental health. Our Key Initiatives Youth Wellbeing Day – August 17th Our annual celebration of young people and mental health. Held at King’s Cross Station, London, the day features music, dance, spoken word, and real conversations. Launched in 2017 with Tito Jackson (yes, from the Jackson 5!) as our International Wellbeing Ambassador, it continues to inspire youth and communities to stand for wellbeing. Runs in the Family – Amazon Best Seller Our practical guide for parents is designed to help families thrive. It teaches emotional awareness, resilience, and connection—and is now available in Spanish too. Global Reach Our resources and training are being used in schools and communities beyond the UK, including in Colombia, where our Mood Mentoring model is supporting young people aged 11–16 with psychodrama and mentoring. Why It Matters Suicide is the leading cause of death among young people in the UK. Many teens struggle in silence, feeling emotionally overwhelmed and disconnected. Early, compassionate intervention can and does save lives. By creating safe spaces, training supportive adults, and giving young people emotional tools, we help turn the tide. How You Can Help Donate to fund vital services and expand our reach. Volunteer your time or skills—every hand helps. Partner with us through workplace giving or CSR initiatives.
