Mission Statement

The charity's aims and objectives are to: • Alleviate the distress of residents and young people who present themselves in crisis; • To promote physical and mental health of residents and young people through ongoing support within the community; • To work in partnership with residents and young people empowering them to formulate positive life choices; • To work in partnership with other agencies that impact upon residents and young people's lives; • Advance education; • Preserve and protect good health; • Relieve poverty, sickness and the distress arising therefrom; and • Promote any other charitable purposes for the benefit of people in the Bridlington and local area. We have an open door policy with immediate support for anyone who presents themselves at any time, with any issue.

About This Cause

The Hinge Centre Limited continues to provide a number of support services that bring residents and young people together and promotes a greater sense of community spirit and engagement, as well as breaking down the barriers of discrimination. We offer: • Arts for Health, • Art Therapy, • A community Food Store, • Community surgeries, • Family Mediation support, • Employment Skills training, • Benefits assistance and support, • Access to further training, • Community events which have included: a Halloween Party, Easter Fayre, Summer Fayre, an annual charity fundraising event, • Resettlement referrals and assessments, • Agency referrals, • Counselling, • Work placement support for Social Workers in Training from Hull University • Volunteer Recruitment The key outcomes of the projects are: 1. Promote a greater sense of community spirit and engagement 2. Breaking down the barriers of discrimination and access to services 3. Improving the life chances of the most vulnerable and isolated members of our community The main beneficiaries will be residents of Bridlington in East Yorkshire who are marginalized, isolated and vulnerable due to depravation, poverty and discrimination. We will measure the success of the project in collaboration with our partners, community, service users and staff via annual consultation, monthly newsletters and our Star monitoring tool to track outcomes for individual service users. We can deliver this project successfully because we are embedded in our local community and are trusted by residents and partners alike. We had 64 individuals attend our 'Residents Together' group which helps to shape the services delivered by The Hinge Centre. The added value of the project includes: • Collaborative working with statutory bodies • Service User involvement in the development of services
