Mission Statement
Our mission is to develop a safe space which provides opportunity for young people to volunteer and take part in social action projects and to contribute towards their community and promote togetherness. With the overall aim of creating positive futures for children and young people.
About This Cause
CATCH is a volunteer-led charity creating a safe space for young people, to help develop their confidence and skills, and support their needs. Our approach is organic, whilst keeping our vision at the heart of everything we do: we love to explore new collaborative opportunities to develop effective programmes, which benefit children and young people and the wider community of Leeds. We believe in challenging status quo, processes and structures, to ensure we create better futures and the best chances for young people. This means we do things differently: our young people thrive when we innovate, and push boundaries to make a positive difference. Our Youth Programme reaches over 1,000 young people each year, with our doors being open 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. Centre-based play and youth work, sports, arts, music, dance, multi-media, construction, animal care, food-growing and safe space workshops all develop our members thinking and behaviours. Outreach work in the community helps to inspire, empower and build confidence and resilience in young people who attend. We collaborate with schools and public/private/charitable partners and have a proven track record supporting some of the most vulnerable young people, with the most complex needs. Our team of volunteers underpin all our work. CATCH is a 97% volunteer led organisation, allowing young people 11 years+ to volunteer with us, encouraging them to reach their full potential and develop their talents. In 2023, our young volunteers collectively logged over 17,000 hours (this doesn’t include adult volunteering hours).
