Mission Statement
Georgia's Children of the World is a registered UK charity with a global reach based in Manchester England. Set up in memory of Georgia Louise Murray an amazing young woman who cared deeply for others who sadly died in her 3rd open heart operation at the age of 19. Run by Georgia's father and an army of volunteers made up of both Georgia and Steve's friends, they have raised over £120,000 as at December 2016 to help children in extreme need and poverty at home and around the World, The majority of funds are raised through community events including the ever growing G-Festival in Manchester now attended by over 3000 people and raising in excess of £20,000 each year .Every penny we raise goes DIRECTLY to the projects with NO administration costs or expenses incurred.
About This Cause
Focussing on Water, Healthcare, Education and Nutrition projects for extremely poor children both at home and around the World, partnering with like minded small organisations , Georgia's Children has made a huge impact in its short existence , just like Georgia herself in her short 19 years with us Projects include: Georgia's House Campaign , Building and supporting schools , Education and community centres in Cambodia , Romania and Manchester. Providing children with education and nutritious meals and clean water. We currently have 5 Georgia's Houses and it is our ambition to have at least 19 over the next ten years. Building wells and fresh water ponds in Cambodian villages with no water or sanitation. Supporting local families facing extreme difficulties through severe health problems and bereavement. Providing free school uniforms to underprivileged children both in the UK and Cambodia , while providing sustainable jobs to poor village families we care for in Cambodia. Providing emergency healthcare to poor villagers in remote rural communities in Cambodia. Providing winter food parcels to children living in extreme conditions of up to minus 25 degrees in Romania.
