Our mission is to never to let religion, any religion, come in the way of the unconditional love between parents and their children.
About This Cause
We're a multi-award-winning charity that tackles homophobia, triggered by religion or culture, to help parents accept their LGBTQI+ children. Our work aims to remove the barriers that previous religious or culturally conservative parents from accepting the LGBTQI+ children they gave birth to. We provide free-to-access support and mentoring to vulnerable LGBTQI+ individuals or their parents, books and videos. We deliver talks and workshops to schools, police forces, NHS, the Home Office, House of Lords, Dept for Education, front line support workers, charities / NGOs. We have a highly visible presence in the national press with our campaigns to end religious homophobia, and prevent LGBTQI+ suicide. Our 2021 campaign for World Suicide Prevention Day reached 49.7 million people. Every year we organise the hugely successful Out and Proud Parents Day event, a day where we celebrate proud parents who have accepted their LGBTQ+ children, which reached nearly 1.7 million people in 2021.
