Mission Statement
Be Enriched enriches community through food. We support people in need and suffering from food poverty by providing them with a hot meal made from surplus food and access to advice and support services.
About This Cause
Be Enriched was set up by youth workers to support young people and empower local communities. We specialise in acting as a catalyst for change, creating spaces for people to come together breaking down barriers, for young people to explore their creativity and to offer advice and support to those in need. Four times a week we cook & serve a free hot meal across South London. We use volunteers & surplus food create healthy nutritious meals & a safe warm environment for homeless, elderly & those with physical & mental ill health. But we are more than just a place to eat. For many of them this is the only time they will speak to someone else. Through our meals we bring people together creating new networks and support systems and feed those who are hungry. By supporting us together we will be able to give more people a week a chance to eat well and pick up the fruit and veg missing from their diet and access support to alleviate them from poverty, in the company of new local friends. in the company of new local friends. It will give young people the chance to learn cooking and transferable skills which will help them lead more healthy fulfilling adult lives. It will provide opportunities a year for people to gain skills through volunteering & training. With funding we can continue to support those more vulnerable
