About This Cause
We envision a day where income has no impact on education. That is why we are on a mission to use the power of tutoring to break down the barriers in education and enable every child to succeed. Tutors United delivers confidence-boosting, attainment-raising tutorials to some of Planet Earths coolest primary school pupils who would normally struggle to access tutoring. Tutors United do this by hiring and training university students to deliver group tutorials in Maths and English using a curriculum designed by expert teachers. The majority of our pupils are from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds and a majority also have English as a second language. Tutors United believes that intervening early, and bringing education “back home” to help parents better understand the children’s school work, can set pupils up for success in secondary school, and the organisation’s results are impressive. Operating since 2013, Tutors United has hired and trained 150 university students as tutors and tutored 800 primary school pupils across London and Cambridge!
