Mission Statement
We address inequalities, help to nourish children's social and emotional development and improve life outcomes by gifting new and gently used books to families with very few of their own.
About This Cause
We are a lean, volunteer-led organisation that takes donations of books that children have grown out of, sorts them and then gifts them to disadvantaged and vulnerable families. Our books provide inspiration, pleasure, escapism and a sense of potential for children who otherwise may not have these tools to draw upon. Our inclusive gifting sessions are run through schools and groups and are designed to help every child feel part of a wider reading community. They are fun, and designed to engage even the most disinterested reader. Support from organisations takes many forms, including: - Volunteers to help sort and organise books - Book Drives conducted in office premises - Fundraising to support our overheads (we keep these to an absolute minimum) - Sponsorship of key aspects of our programme
