Mission Statement
Usurp Art supports and nurtures diverse, artistic experimentation and exploration to challenge prejudice and discrimination. We facilitate collaborations and discussions between marginilised, neurodivergent, artists and communities to build better and healthier environmentally sound futures. Usurp Art provides facilities and genuine affordable studio space for artists to work individually and collaboratively across art forms and discourses. We specifically commission BAME, LGBTQI+ artists and cultural pracitioners to support their livelihoods, act as change agents, provide mental health support and delivery for food banks, and provide training and mentoring in culture, arts, sound and music.
About This Cause
For public benefit to promote and foster the understanding and appreciation of diverse, multi - media art, and creativity that challenge prejudice, inequality and discrimination. To advance education, and learning in creative practices for marginalised communities, in particular but not exclusively, by providing programmes, events, training, mentoring, tours, residencies, talks, exhibitions, performances, publications, screenings and collaborative projects. To further such other purposes which may be charitable according to the law of England and Wales as the trustees see fit from time to time.
