About This Cause

WTWFSS provides an integrated model of family support work and clinical expertise to families with complex needs, the majority of whom are living in Hertfordshire. Our core purpose is to prevent family breakdown by delivering practical parenting programmes and providing access to our service – Issie’s Emotional Wellbeing Hub. Our key activities revolve around families currently, many of whom are known to Social Services and we have a proven track record in Hertfordshire. Our organisation works alongside families (adults and children) in Hertfordshire, who are predominantly impacted by domestic abuse and the wider socioeconomic challenges which negatively impact their emotional and physical wellbeing. We also specialise in child-parent abuse, which often leads to family breakdown. We consistently keep 86% of families together through our bespoke programmes of work with the family in their communities, working alongside the LA and multi-agency professionals. We have set up an integrated clinical and family support service which provides a therapy service alongside our parenting offer. Children benefit from our childcare offer as well which looks to capture their voice in the family and improve relationships with carers/parents. We offer free therapy to clients through Issie’s Emotional Wellbeing Hub (IEWBH). We have supported over 160 clients who may not have been able to afford or access private therapy, including 40 young people. Over 80% of children and young people known to our service have been impacted by domestic abuse, neglect and trauma, and they have a raft of unmet needs. We understand the behaviours that others find challenging, and have created a unique blend of family support and clinical expertise on which to deliver trauma-informed, bespoke programmes. 70% have shown a reduction in their inclinations towards criminal activity. Since 2023, we have supported 40 young people with counselling, from those who responded, they have experienced an increase in their emotional wellbeing and increased willingness to return to school, a decrease in their levels of depression, loneliness and social isolation. 80% have experienced a decrease in anxiety and 75% have experienced a decrease in stress. We offer free therapy to clients through Issie’s Emotional Wellbeing Hub (IEWBH). We have supported over 160 clients who may not have been able to afford or access private therapy, including 40 young people. We are trauma informed and work holistically with the whole family and also run a National Association of Contact Centre accredited “Bubba’s Supervised Contact Centre” (BCC). This provides meaningful, family focussed contact for children to spend time with their non-resident parent. All clients of BCC are offered access to our other services, including Therapeutic Counselling for children. Our NACCC Accredited Contact Centre, which offers consistency of staff to families known to us who do not live with their children. Our main purpose and objectives are to create improved and sustainable changes in families’ lives, by being responsive, non-judgemental and compassionate. We are a not-for-profit organisation who obtains grants to enable us to deliver our services. We offer free services to our families and offer effective signposting to partner organisations, such as a local legal firm who provide us with pro bono work.
