About This Cause

The Partially Sighted Society has been in existence for over 50 years. Our aim is to help people with sight loss make the best use of their remaining vision. From our professionally equipped sight centre in Doncaster we provide a range of services to support anybody living with sight loss. These include: Free Low Vision Assessments. Our professional low vision assessment has access to the latest aids and equipment to help you continue to live life independently. Free Sight tests. We are registered by the General Optical Council and specialise in providing eye examinations for people with visual impairments. Mental health and wellbeing. Through our qualified art therapist, we offer mental health and wellbeing support for people struggling with the psychological and emotional aspects of losing their sight. Adaptive technology training and support. Helping people with visual impairments get the most out of their smartphones, tablets and computers to help them reconnect with others and reopen pathways to independence. Print room services. We create bold-lined stationery including calendars, diaries and school supplies for people with low vision. Social and support groups. Combating social isolation through offering a safe and welcoming space for people to connect with others. We help thousands of people every year to live their best possible lives with visual impairments, all of it is made possible by the generosity of people just like you.
