Mission Statement
The Barrmill & District Community Association (BDCA) is dedicated to maintaining our independent community centre as a local facility for the use of all. We aspire to become a focal point for activities in the village and increase the community spirit as well as encourage local people to get together.
About This Cause
BDCA are a volunteer led community Association who run a small independent community centre in the North Ayrshire rural village of Barrmill in Scotland. The community centre was transferred to community ownership from local government in 2000 to prevent closure. The BDCA run or host a variety of local activities and events from Art Classes, Election Polling Station to Film shows. Our most successful project is the Barrmill Conservation Group which aims to develop a calendar of events and activities centred around the 4 themes of the garden – nature, horticulture, health and history. Overall the project is encouraging wider use of the outdoor space by locals and visitors for recreation, socialisation, education and food growing.
