About This Cause
Save the Elders Foundation is a registered non-profit organization with registration number 00NGO/R/4828, dedicated to supporting vulnerable elderly people aged 65 and above in Tanzania. Our organization operates from our office located in Sekei, Kiutu Arusha. With a passionate team of volunteers and staff, we strive to empower and improve the lives of elderly individuals who face various challenges in their day-to-day lives. We recognize that senior citizens often face unique challenges related to their health, finances, and social well-being, impacting their overall quality of life. Our organization is committed to providing holistic and comprehensive services to address these challenges and improve the well-being of elderly individuals. At Save the Elders Foundation, we are committed to safeguarding the well-being and dignity of our senior citizens. With a deep sense of responsibility and compassion, we dedicate ourselves to creating a nurturing environment where the elderly can thrive. Our pride lies in offering comprehensive elderly care services, fostering a sense of community, and advocating for the rights and needs of our beloved elders. Our objectives: 1. To establish various sources of funds for the Organization to provide practical support to elderly individuals who may be struggling with social isolation, health issues, or financial challenges. This could involve offering counselling, health care services, meals, transportation, setting up eldercare centers or other resources to help older adults maintain their independence and quality of life. 2. To promote the rights of elders and ensure that they are treated with dignity and respect. This could include advocating for policies and legislation that protect elder rights, as well as raising awareness about elder abuse and neglect. 3. To support research into issues affecting the elderly, such as dementia, age-related illnesses, and social isolation. The organization could provide funding or collaborate with researchers to advance understanding of these issues and identify new ways to support older adults. 4. To collaborate with other organizations that serve elders, such as healthcare providers or government agencies, to ensure that elders have access to the resources they need. This could include working together to identify gaps in services and advocating for increased funding or policy changes. 5. To create a sense of community among elders and reduce social isolation. This could involve organizing social events, creating support groups, or connecting elders with volunteers who can provide companionship. 6. To promote active aging by encouraging older people to maintain healthy lifestyles, engage in physical activity, and pursue lifelong learning.
