Mission Statement

Victoria Mansion is a historic house museum in Portland, Maine, built between 1858 and 1860 as a summer house for Ruggles Morse and his wife Olive. It is recognized for its extraordinary architecture and interiors by Gustave Herter, founder of the illustrious New York decorating firm Herter Brothers. Today, the Mansion retains over ninety percent of its original furniture and furnishings from the 1860s.
