About This Cause
Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine’s programs are designed to meet the interests and developmental needs of all our members, ages 6-18. We offer outcome-driven programs aimed at positive youth development. Our goal is to have all our members graduate high school on time with a plan for their future. Academics With our Academics programs, members embrace their curiosity, actively engage in their education, and acquire a lifelong love of learning. These programs offer homework help, SAT tutors, college and job prep, and bring all our members closer to high school graduation. Out-of-school support is available in the summer and after school. Arts With our Arts programs, members develop creativity, imagination, and expression through the joyful discovery of the Arts. We provide daily fine arts classes, performing arts opportunities, music and dance lessons. We celebrate members' creativity through art shows and performances. Leadership With our Leadership programs, members use their voices and take action to contribute to the wellbeing of their communities. In leadership programs, members learn and practice new leadership skills by organizing and implementing Club and community service projects. Health & Wellness With our Health & Wellness programs, members practice wellness, lead healthy lifestyles, and make lasting commitments to fitness. These programs include team sports, swimming lessons, and mindfulness exercises with nutritious meals served daily to promote a healthy lifestyle.
