PORTLAND CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL

PORTLAND, Maine, 04112 United States

Mission Statement

PCMF enhances the cultural life of our community by bringing nationally recognized artists of the highest caliber to Portland to perform a wide range of classical chamber music, including the music of living composers. We are committed to ensuring that our programs are accessible to people of all ages.

About This Cause

Founded in 1994, the Portland Chamber Music Festival is now a top chamber music event in New England featuring acclaimed performers from the United States and abroad. Festival concerts are broadcast regionally and nationally on Maine Public Radio, WGBH Radio in Boston, and American Public Media’s “Performance Today.” Since 2007, the festival has made its home at the Abromson Community Education Center at the University of Southern Maine’s Portland campus. Known primarily for its five-concert summer season, PCMF’s events also include an annual Composers Competition, periodic chamber music workshops for adult string players, a Children's Concert, and a Young Artist Apprentice Audition program.
