MCHPP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our mission is to offer dignity and empowerment by providing all members of our community with access to healthy food.
About This Cause
Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program (MCHPP) is located in Brunswick, Maine and is the largest hunger relief and prevention agency in the midcoast region. MCHPP operates a soup kitchen, food bank, and food pantry out of our facility at 12 Tenney Way as well as mobile, school, and satellite pantries across Cumberland, Androscoggin, Sagadahoc, Lincoln, Knox, and Waldo counties. MCHPP served its first meal in 1983 and over the next 4 decades, support for MCHPP grew as did the number of local families experiencing food insecurity. We envision a community where quality, nutritious food is available for all and work toward that goal through our core programs.
