Mission Statement
The Tilton-Northfield Recreation Council was founded on and continues to be committed to the ideas of enriching people's lives through social and recreational activities and improving the quality of life for the communities that we serve.
About This Cause
The Tilton-Northfield Recreation Council offers a multitude of recreational services related to physical and and mental health, nutrition, stress reduction, economic development, conservation, and combating childhood obesity, all while keeping programming fees at a very reasonable and affordable rate. We offer youth sports programming, including soccer, basketball, field hockey, volleyball, tennis, and a running club for school age children. During the fall and winter months we offer a ski and snowboard lesson program through Gunstock Mountain Resort, community candy bar bingo nights for families, a craft fair, a Halloween party, a pumpkin carving night, community breakfasts, paint nights, and various other events and programming. We offer licensed child care programming year round, including a before and after school program during the school year as well as a vacation camp program that is offered during school vacations and on teacher workshop days. One of the largest and most popular programs that we offer is our summer Playground Program, which is also licensed through the State of New Hampshire. This program accommodates up to 100 children during an 8-week span in the summer. The children in these programs are in grades K-4. We also offer a Junior Counselor-In-Training Program for children in grades 5-7, and a Counselor-In-Training Program for children in grades 8-10. These programs are offered during the summer as well. Our community center essentially serves as the recreation department for the towns of Tilton and Northfield, and is a vital asset to the two communities.
