About This Cause
The Children's Museum of New Hampshire (CMNH) is a vibrant, 40-year-old organization that shapes communities by celebrating children's and families' creativity, learning, and collaboration. The Museum specializes in learning experiences that reflect emerging research while responding to specific community needs. Signature programs feature an array of outreach efforts for underserved students and families as well as STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts/Design, and Math) initiatives to foster student’s academic success in order to prepare them for their future work endeavors. The Museum is New Hampshire’s most visited cultural and educational attraction, serving 93,000 visitors annually from 175 New Hampshire towns and cities and dozens of communities from other states. On average, 30% of the Museum’s visitors are admitted through free and reduced admission programs designed for economically disadvantaged students and families and those in challenging circumstances. To ensure maximum reach into underserved populations, CMNH maintains strong partnerships with Title I schools, Head Start, public libraries, and 50 social service agencies including family shelters, autism support agencies, and mental health centers. The Museum provides 19 permanent exhibits, a variety of educational and cultural programming such as curriculum-based field trips and educational outreach, early childhood literacy programs, outreach to low-income and working class families, and exhibits and artist workshops.
