Mission Statement
Blankets of Love Outreach is determined to improve the lives of all homeless and low income persons regardless of background, race, creed, religion, or sexual orientation. Our goal is to ensure homelessness does not equate with hopelessness, and suffering on the streets is eradicated.
About This Cause
Since December 2006, Blankets of Love Outreach a 501©3 company; has assisted thousands of homeless persons throughout Georgia. We are determined to improve the lives of all homeless persons regardless of background, race, creed, religion, or sexual orientation. Our Goal is simple, bring as much comfort to people living on the streets and provide information for transitional housing. Twice a month, a group of volunteers spend several hours driving throughout metro Atlanta seeking homeless persons to serve. We provide a meal, clothing, toiletries, coats and blankets (during the winter months). On each occasion, we serve over 200 homeless persons focusing on those of those living directly on the streets, in parks, under overpasses and some alleys. While our goal is not to enable the homeless, we at BOL do not believe those living on the streets should not suffer unnecessarily. We also provide counseling, housing recommendations, and most importantly words of encouragement. Our Organization: We are a 100% volunteer organization including the Founder/CEO. Currently, 100% of all donations received are applied towards services of those we serve. For the past 14 years, we have fed, clothed and handed blankets to those persons living directly on the streets. We also believe in Christmas for the homeless. On the Sunday before Christmas each year We had out practical Christmas gifts such as hats, gloves and scarves inside a backpack filled with other items. Also, the weekend before Christmas, we adopt 25 - 35 low income and displaced families. Our annual event "Christmas Joy" is held at a venue each year. We fulfill the need of these families by giving toys to the children, clothing, blankets and a take home holiday dinner. We also provide a special gift for the caregivers. In October of each year we begin “Project Cuddles” also know as our blanket drive. We collect and hand out about 500 blankets each year. Blankets of Love outreach will continue to take care of homeless and low income families until this crisis no longer exist. We are so grateful for all donations towards our cause. Thank you in advance
