Mission Statement
Bao Phuoc Buddhist Church in San Jose, California is a monastic community found by Venerable Thich Hai Tich. The abbot of the Buddhist church is compassionate in building a Beloved Community: creating a healthy, nourishing environment where people can learn the art of living in harmony with one another and with the Earth.
About This Cause
Bao Phuoc Buddhist Church began in 2007 as a small residential house, and has today grown into one of the largest Buddhist monastery in San Jose, California. At Bao Phuoc Buddhist Church, we weave mindfulness into all our daily activities, training ourselves to be mindful throughout the day: while eating, walking, working, or enjoying a cup of tea together. Bao Phuoc Buddhist Church is a home away from home, and a beautiful, nourishing, simple environment in which to cultivate the mind of awakening. We enjoy periods of silence, sitting meditation, rest, relaxation, mindful work and play. All practitioners who come Bao Phuoc Buddhist Church are invited to join in the communal activities in their hamlet, whether it is preparing meals, cleaning or washing dishes, as a way of learning to cultivate joy and mindfulness whatever we are doing. Every year, Bao Phuoc Buddhist Church welcomes thousands of Buddhist practitioners from all around the local and the nationwide, who come to experience the art of mindful communal living. In addition to daily mindfulness practice Bao Phuoc Buddhist Church offers many social service, and helds many social event and holiday for people of all ages and ethnics. Bao Phuoc Buddhist Church also opens Vietnamese Class for kids under the name Vietnamese Language School Phuoc Hue, where many kids enjoy learning Vietnamese, cultures and especially the Art of Mindfulness in Living.
