CITIZENS FOR RESPONSIBILITY AND ETHICS IN WASHINGTON INC

WASHINGTON, District of Columbia, 20044 United States

Mission Statement

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) will be the leading nonpartisan ethics watchdog group in a period of crisis with a President and administration that present possible conflicts of interest and ethical problems on an unprecedented scale. CREW will demand ethical conduct from the administration and all parts of government, expose improper influence from powerful interests, and ensure accountability when the administration and others shirk ethical standards, rules, and laws.

About This Cause

Founded in 2003, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) has long been successfully addressing ethics and corruption through the use of legal complaints and suits, comprehensive research, and aggressive media outreach. CREW has a proven record of exposing corruption in Washington and played a leading role in revealing the unethical and illegal actions of disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff and several members of Congress, including former Senators Rick Santorum (R-PA) and John Ensign (R-NV), Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ), Representative Charles Rangel (D-NY), and former Representatives Tom DeLay (R-TX) and Aaron Schock (R-IL). CREW’s call outs of politicians for corrupt or abusive conduct has been a major factor in election campaigns across the country. Our recent successes demonstrate the impact CREW can have both in individual cases and in shining a spotlight on the system-wide corrupting influence of money in politics.
