Our mission: to fund humane research focused on preventing and curing canine cancer. GREYlong is committed to improving the health of all dog breeds. Through fund-raising efforts and donations, we fund good science focused on canine prevention, cures and treatments.
About This Cause
GREYlong is a non-profit organization committed to improving the health of all dog breeds. Through fund-raising efforts and donations, we fund good science focused on cancer prevention, treatment and cures. GREYlong came together in 2006 after several pet owners lost companion animals to diseases with no known cure or treatment options. Our name "GREYlong" is a nod to senior "greying" dogs and the hope that all pets will live long, healthy lives. We are passionate about making a difference in our current and future pets' lives. Money raised by GREYlong is donated to organizations conducting humane research on the causes and cures for canine cancer. In 2012 GREYlong joined with the Animal Cancer Care and Research Program at the University of Minnesota. The ACCR is a joint program of the College of Veterinary Medicine and the Masonic Cancer Center. ACCR's mission is to advance the knowledge and translate it into delivery of care to reduce the incidence of cancer and its impact in human and animal patients. Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center was also selected to receive a donation in support of their canine cancer research. OSU has both a comprehensive veterinary medical center with more than 60 board-certified practitioners, and a clinical trials office well-known for its cutting edge research. In the past we worked closely with Morris Animal Foundation. For more than 60 years, MAF has worked to improve the health of animals by funding research pertaining to both companion animals and wildlife. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.
