About This Cause
The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Holyoke’s (HBGC) main facility is home base for two Club programs, the Mass. Department of Early Childhood Education licensed after-school program and the evening membership teen drop-in program. The Club also serves youth in four satellite units operated in Holyoke Housing Authority community centers. Additionally, we offer programs in the Holyoke Public Schools and provide school vacation and summer vacation programs. HBGC offers programs in five core areas: 1. Education and Career 2. Leadership Development 3. Technology & the Arts 4. Health and Life Skills 5. Sports and Recreation HBGC also serves the whole family through events, programs and classes for parents and families. Free HiSet/GED Preparation classes are offered 4 mornings per week. Monthly Family Nights are held where a variety of activities are offered such as workshops in employment strategies, classes in nutrition and healthy living, computer and financial literacy. We link caregivers with counseling and other resources and refer families to other agencies in the community.
