Mission Statement
Since 1881, The Boston Home has provided specialized clinical care and residential services for adults with advanced progressive neurological diseases, primarily Multiple Sclerosis. Always an innovator, The Boston Home has extended its mission beyond its residents to those living in the community with similar conditions. Programs and services include B.Fit!, a day wellness and socialization program, as well as The Wheelchair Enhancement Center, an Out-patient Seating Clinic, and Rehabilitation Services. Through The Boston Home Institute, The Boston Home advances the standards of care by sharing our expertise with healthcare professionals from across the country and advocating for informed public policy

This program has been supported since its inception in part by the Greater N.E. Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. • The Wheelchair Enhancement Center provides customized wheelchair and adaptive equipment solutions to outpatients – the first in the state. • A deep and longstanding partnership with MIT and others developing innovative technologies. • The Boston Home Institute provides educational outreach to healthcare professionals both locally and on the national level to share best practices. • Co-founder of the Greater Boston Durable Medical Equipment Reuse Program, which matches people with disabilities who have equipment needs with low or no cost gently used options.
