Mission Statement
Girls Incorporated of Lynn inspires all girls to be strong, smart and bold through life-changing after-school programs and experiences that help girls navigate gender, economic and social barriers. Research-based curricula, delivered by trained, mentoring professionals in a positive all-girl environment equip girls to achieve academically, lead healthy and physically active lives, manage money, navigate media messages, and discover an interest in science, technology, engineering and math.
About This Cause
Each program is an essential piece of the Girls Inc. of Lynn experience that is structured to provide girls with a strong foundation on which they can build future successes. Literacy programs in School Aged Child Care work to combat summer learning loss and set girls on a confident and favorable academic track. When girls reach the Middle School Programs, their educational horizons are broadened as they explore the subjects of science, technology, engineering and math, fields that women are not often encouraged to pursue. As the girls move to the Teen Programs, they draw on these foundational skills, attitudes and knowledge to assume roles as peer leaders and explore opportunities for their future through college and career mentoring programs. This holistic, compensatory and intentional programming focuses on the girls’ needs to provide them with exposure to a wide variety of experiences and options that they might not have encountered otherwise.
