Our mission is to cultivate an engaged community of youth whose powerful artistic voices transform their lives, their neighborhoods, and their worlds. We believe in the power of young people. We believe in the power of artistic expression. We believe in taking care of ourselves and each other. We believe in creating positive change in our neighborhood & beyond.
About This Cause
The Community Art Center achieves our mission through intensive, year-round activities for youth ages 5-19 and through youth-led Community Programming that engages local and national audiences in quality artistic experiences. The art center has a nationally recognized public arts program, and houses the nation's longest running annual youth film festival, Do It Your Damn Self!! Primarily serving the under-resourced in Cambridge, the Community Art Center has provided opportunities and experiences for children, youth and teens for over 85 years.
