About This Cause
Our vision is a world where wildlife flourishes in healthy ecosystems that sustain us all. Wild Earth Allies partners with communities, organizations, and individuals to protect wildlife and habits in culturally appropriate ways. Whether confronting the insidious impacts of climate change on endangered tree species or battling the poaching threats to marine turtles, we believe that conservation challenges are most successfully addressed at the local level in cooperation with people who care about — and will continue to care about — the ecosystems under duress. Our work stretches from Cambodia to Rwanda to Belize. We select our initiatives with great care, looking in each for a pressing need and a genuine opportunity to catalyze change. Focus Areas: ○ Wildlife We conserve imperiled wildlife species across the earth through community-based monitoring, environmental education, and active opposition to threats such as illegal wildlife trade. Our current wildlife targets include Asian elephants, marine turtles, threatened trees and great apes. ○ Habitats We protect critical habitats in biodiverse landscapes where degradation poses severe threats to wildlife, humans, and whole ecosystems. Our current geographic targets include Cambodia, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Belize and El Salvador. ○ Shared Learning We facilitate the honest exchange of ideas, experiences, perspectives, strategies, and tactics to promote best practices and establish the cooperation required to accelerate conservation success. Our current areas of focus include organizing cross-site exchange and documenting and sharing evidence-based conservation results. Our commitment to lean, effective operations has earned us Charity Navigator's highest four-star ranking for many years, indicating that we “outperform the majority of nonprofits in America with respect to fiscal responsibility."
