About This Cause
How do we do it? Next Step was founded in 2001 with the support of late actor and philanthropist, Paul Newman. Next Step programming is FREE to attend for youth living with HIV, cancer and rare genetic diseases. We offer year-round programming at our new home, Next Step Central, in the Central Square neighborhood of Cambridge, MA. Next Step youth are also given the opportunity to attend a week-long residential conference every summer where we connect them with peers with similar medical challenges and professionals who truly "get it". Our programs empower our young participants to move beyond "Why Me" to "What's Next" when mapping out their future. Our youth participate in year-round programming that includes: Music therapy Residential summer conferences Personal growth & leadership workshops Job-readiness workshops Art workshops
