Mission Statement
All God's Children Ministries mission is to identify needs in the disability community, develop programs to address those needs, and invite those in our churches to serve in those programs, meeting the needs of neighbors, near and far.
About This Cause
All God's Children Ministries is comprised of several programs and projects. The Ramps of Hope program provides accessible residential ramps for those in our communities who need them to be able to come and go from their homes safely. We have provided nearly 300 ramps in Northwestern PA and have provided training to help other groups start programs in their communities. Our Respite Care Program provides a safe place for children with special needs to be cared for, giving parents or other primary care givers a much needed break from the ongoing stresses of caring for a child with special needs. Two Saturday afternoons a month parents can bring their children to us while they find some time to shop, go to a movie, take a nap, or do whatever they need or want to do while their child has some fun with our trained volunteers. Our International Missions Program focuses on providing wheelchairs and other adaptive equipment to some of the most needed people in our hemisphere. We are currently working to help those in Guatemala, by providing wheel chairs and other adaptive equipment. We collect used equipment and then ship it to our partners in Guatemala. We also send short term mission teams to Guatemala to help fit and distribute the equipment to those who need it there. Most people in developing nations have no way of accessing needed medical equipment and often live lives of isolation because they lack items such as walkers, wheelchairs, and crutches. In the United States and around the world, persons affected by disability often live lives of isolation. We dream of a day when all people will be fully included and find a place of true belonging in our churches and communities no matter what their abilities or disabilities are. Through teaching and equipping ministries, we work to change the culture in our churches and communities as we help others to look beyond the disability to see the person first.
