About This Cause
Over the last 15 years, the ESA Foundation has supported those leveraging interactive technologies to create meaningful opportunity in the lives of America’s youth. ESA FOUNDATION by the numbers (2016): 144 charities and nonprofits supported Over $20 million raised 400 scholarships awarded EACH OF OUR GENEROUS SPONSORS ENABLES ESA FOUNDATION TO . . . Make the World a Better Place Through Video Games The technology developed for video games and entertainment has the potential to transform lives. ESA Foundation awards grants every year to organizations that are leveraging interactive technologies to achieve meaningful social impact. ESA Foundation grants have: enabled thousands of Girls Scouts to participate in hands-on game design workshops, allowed Inspire USA to develop an online cyberbullying resource for teens, and empowered HopeLab to develop mobile games that promote successful treatment outcomes for young people with cancer, just to name a few examples. Build a Pipeline of Future Video Game Professionals Since 2007, ESA Foundation has awarded close to $800,000 in scholarships for women and minority students across the U.S. follow their dream of earning a STEM or computer and video game-related degree, while also creating a pipeline of skilled job candidates for a growing industry.
