Mission Statement
BAFTX enables financially challenged, Texas-based students that excel academically to fulfil their exceptional potential by supporting their US college education. We also provide a unique student learning experience in the UK, giving an early opportunity to broaden perspective and personal vision. Together these support their aspirations to become leaders in their chosen fields, changing their lives and communities by increasing access to education and meeting the needs of tomorrow’s STEM and business workforce.
About This Cause
The British American Foundation of Texas (BAFTX) has been assisting gifted and talented young people achieve their objectives since 2007. Our scholars from underprivileged backgrounds are able, with financial support from BAFTX, to complete their studies, start on their career paths and reach their potential. We offer a range of scholarships for students from underprivileged backgrounds including: a 2 week summer program in the UK, all expenses paid, for gifted high school juniors. Most have not left the USA before and as well as learning about British history politics, culture and the arts, they return with huge ambitions and widened horizons; college tuition funding for undergraduate and graduate students in Texas, whether they be from Texas or the UK. We also fund academic fees for students from Texas who wish to study in the UK; college tuition funding for students in Texas of any age who have demonstrated leadership in their community.
