Mission Statement

The cornerstone of the Adelphi philosophy goes beyond academics. We educate our diverse population of students to acquire the skills to become productive valuable members of society and encourage them to reach their maximum potential. We take what is especially unique in each student and nurture their talents. Our Pre-K through 12 grade students are general and special education including individuals on the autism spectrum. All students can develop the academic skills necessary to achieve their intellectual potential. In order to facilitate the development of our students’ academic skills, we use an educational approach designed to enhance their strengths, as well as address their academic and social weaknesses. To that end, the educational program for each student is individualized in both content and approach for alternative instructional environments, teaching strategies, and materials. Our academic program enables students with non-traditional learning styles to participate successfully by providing a full range of support services for students with learning disabilities, nurtures student’s artistic abilities by supplementing its academic curriculum with programs in performing, visual and fine arts and challenges each student in their area of expertise, enhancing each child’s strengths. Adelphi is dedicated to the education of the total child. Adelphi’s comprehensive and challenging program of studies and activities is designed to broaden the scope of each student’s thinking and to instill an appreciation for learning for the purpose of growing both mind and spirit. Every student is given the confidence to feel that whatever they conceive by mind, they can achieve by action.
