Mission Statement
Our mission is to: Build a vibrant and welcoming community both within PS29 and with the greater neighborhood community. Facilitate an effective relationship and two-way communication between families, school administration, school staff, and community officials. Raise funds to provide a wide variety of educational and cultural programs and materials to support school initiatives for the students of PS29.
About This Cause
At PS29, we are all united by our deep commitment to providing the best possible education for our children. We value an education that fosters independent thinking, we place emphasis on learning in conventional and non-conventional ways, and we work hard to offer a well-rounded experience with enrichments and extra programming. The PTA funds: PROGRAM SUPPORT to keep the student-to-teacher ratio as small as possible. This line item looks one year ahead and is paid out in June for the next fiscal year. ARTS, MUSIC & THEATER ENRICHMENT through collaborations with partners like BAM and Brooklyn Queens Conservatory. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT to ensure our teachers have the best knowledge and latest teaching techniques to provide our kids with great learning experiences. READING, MATH & SCIENCE ENRICHMENT such as the garden program and chess. SUPPLIES & ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT for essential supplies, Wellness in the Schools program, funding to help support Related Services.
