About This Cause

All too often we hear students ask, “Why do I need to know this?” They question the relevance of math and science to their lives and their futures. Salvadori’s innovative Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) based programs give students the tools they need to answer this question for themselves. The Salvadori Center shows students the relevance of math and science using the buildings, bridges, landmarks, and parks in their local communities. Through collaborative, hands-on, project-based learning, and a scientific method of discovery, students see the math and science within the classrooms they enter, the bridges they cross, the parks they play in, and the buildings they see every day. Salvadori Students learn to work collaboratively, critically analyze tough problems, and pose creative solutions to real world challenges.
