Mission Statement
To assist in ending hunger throughout the New York City Area and restore hope and provide assistance to homeless families and individuals; partner with the local organizations to put love into action through service to the community. Our mission focus is serving the most vulnerable children, teens and families in the New York City Area and Beyond.
About This Cause
The Feed the Family Outreach Foundation was started , Sue (Mariel) Thomas on the IM Marketing Content team. Sue first began her work assisting less fortunate families prepare their Thanksgiving meal together as a family. She soon recognized how the efforts of one person could make a difference and has evolved the Feed the Family Outreach Foundation to continuously help those in need. Today, the team of volunteers at Feed the Family Outreach Foundation serves communities throughout the year from Back to School Events that distribute backpacks and school supplies to Thanksgiving Baskets that each feed a family of 4-6 to toy and coats drives with Marine Toys for Tots and New York Coat Cares. Sue runs a Food Pantry and Bread Basket distribution from her home every Saturday and, along with her team of volunteers, distributes meals and care packages to Women and Men Ministries shelters twice a month. On a quarterly basis, the Feed the Family Outreach Foundation hosts a street event in Brooklyn where they organize the distribution of hot meals, desserts and drinks, care packages (donated clothing, shoes, coats, etc.) to anyone in need. The Foundation even has an informational Health Station with a free blood pressure check available for all. These are only some of the many events and outreach programs throughout the year. Sue’s commitment to help others and the work she and her team of volunteers do through the Feed the Family Outreach Foundation is extraordinary. A donation to Feed the Family Outreach Foundation gives back not only to those in need in the greater NYC area but also supports the community efforts of one of our Voya IM employees.
